Kava
Kava is a calming herbal drink made from the root of the Piper methysticum, a plant native to the South Pacific. For centuries, it’s been used in places like Fiji and Vanuatu as part of social gatherings, ceremonies, and everyday relaxation.
Why people love it
- Helps take the edge off after a long day
- Promotes a calm, grounded feeling
- Social without the hangover
- Often used as a natural alternative to alcohol
What to expect
Kava doesn’t hit like caffeine or alcohol. It’s more subtle. You might notice your body relax first, shoulders drop, jaw unclenches, and your mind follows. Some people also feel a slight numbing sensation on the tongue, which is totally normal.
Do not drink alcohol 12 hours before or after consuming Kava.
Different types of Kava tend to look the same no matter what the strain is. The color may change slightly depending on whether you add oat milk, syrups, or additives.

Think social, clear, and a little uplifting. Mind kava leans more into mental effects, helping you feel relaxed but still present, talkative, and engaged. It tends to kick in quickly and doesn’t linger as long, making it a solid daytime or “hang out and chat” option.
This one settles in your muscles. Body kava is all about deep physical relaxation, that “melt into the couch” feeling. It’s slower, heavier, and lasts longer, which is why people usually reach for it at night or when they want to fully unwind.
Right in the middle. A balanced kava gives you a bit of both, light mental clarity with noticeable body relaxation. It’s easygoing, versatile, and usually the safest bet if you’re not sure what direction you want to lean.
Botanical Teas
Botanical teas are plant-based brews made from carefully prepared leaves, roots, and herbs that have been used for generations across different cultures. One of the most talked-about botanicals today comes from the leaves of Mitragyna speciosa, a tropical tree native to regions of Southeast Asia like Thailand and Indonesia.
Why people explore botanical teas
- A plant-based option for relaxation or focus
- A grounded alternative to coffee or alcohol
- Part of long-standing cultural traditions
- A slower, more mindful way to sip and settle in
What to expect
Every botanical tea has its own personality. Some feel more calming, others more uplifting, depending on the preparation and amount used. The flavor tends to lean earthy and bold, often balanced with citrus, honey, or other natural additions.
The experience is usually gradual. It’s less about a quick hit and more about easing into how your body feels over time.
Known for its calming and pain-relieving properties, Red is often used for relaxation and to aid sleep.
Balancing stimulation and relaxation, Green is favored for its ability to enhance focus and provide mild energy boosts.
Typically sought after for its energizing and mood-enhancing effects, making it popular for use in situations requiring alertness and uplifted spirits.
A less common variety, Yellow is praised for its mild effects that blend subtle energy with relaxation, often seen as a middle ground between Red and Green strains.
Goes well with Lavender or Hibiscus and derived from the Nymphaea caerulea flower, is known for its calming and mildly euphoric effects.
